Sunday Reflection (January 28, 2024)

Instead of uncleanness contaminating him, Jesus overcame his uncleanness with the holiness of God: The Holy One of God (Mark 1:21-28). The unclean man was not unclean to Jesus. He was healed and brought into fellowship with God and others. This is a foretaste when all evil and uncleanness are conquered by God, and we are fully restored and reconciled to God.
 
Jesus revealed an inbreaking of God’s reign upon earth. Jesus healed the man of the unclean spirit and embraced the man. May we be like Jesus who overcame evil and uncleanness with compassion and love: That is the power of God!
