The resurrection of Jesus makes sense of the tragedy, humiliation, and scandal of crucifixion in that the final authority is not death, evil, and hatred; rather, the final authority is life, love, and compassion. The resurrection of Jesus foreshadows the restoration of us and the world in complete unity and harmony with God and one another, yet only the future can prove this hope of resurrection.

We still die, we are still divided, hatred and evil abound, but through the Holy Spirit, God transforms today unto resurrected living. Resurrected living is the transcendence of the and particular and present to grasp the universal and eternal. The ground of that transcendence is the resurrected Christ (Colossians 3:1-4)

Think of this Scripture Reading as a reflection of resurrection living: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:12-14).” May we embrace resurrected living today!
