Prayer for the Week (May 26, 2024-June 1, 2024)

Let us pray to God as the sons and daughters he dearly loves: Father, you sent your Word to bring us truth and your Spirit to make us holy. Through your Word, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit we come to the mystery of your life. May we worship you, one God in three persons, by proclaiming and living our faith in you. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who eternally dwells with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Sunday Reflection (May 26, 2024)

Sunday Reflection for Trinity Sunday
Isaiah 6:1-6 / John 3:16-21 / Romans 8:12-17

Last week, we celebrated the profound significance of Pentecost Sunday, a day when God’s Spirit empowered us to boldly proclaim His Word as revealed in Christ. This intimate connection with God through the Holy Spirit leads us into a transformative way of life, one that fosters life and restoration, replacing the shackles of destruction and death. This new path of life unites us in fellowship with both God and each other. The descent of God towards us through Jesus Christ elevates us, through the Holy Spirit, to commune with our heavenly Father, whom we reverently address each week as “Our Father…Abba.”

As we enter into a relationship with the Triune God, we are not merely recipients of His divine love and compassion, but we are also entrusted with the task of sharing it with the world. We are not passive observers but active participants in God’s mission to reconcile the world. Through Christ, God purifies us, enabling us to speak His Word and proclaim the Good News of hope in Jesus Christ. This divine call to action empowers us and bestows upon us the responsibility of actively spreading God’s love and compassion. We are not just beneficiaries but integral agents in God’s divine plan.

Sunday Reflection (May 19, 2024)

Sunday Reflection upon Romans 8:22-27
The Holy Spirit does not free us from the tension between the ideal state of things in God’s love and compassion and the current reality. Instead, the Holy Spirit intensifies this tension, urging us to respond more fully to God’s love and contribute to the healing and restoration of all creation.

The Holy Spirit, in its infinite wisdom, works through our weaknesses to guide us in sharing God’s love with others. It encourages us to not just see the world, but to look beyond it, to God. By doing so, we shift our focus from the world’s problems and challenges to the transformative power of God’s mercy and love at work in our lives and the world around us. In a world filled with destruction, pain, and misery, we can bring hope and effect positive change. We are not alone in this endeavor.

Prayer for the Week (May 19, 2024-May 25, 2024)

Let us pray that the Holy Spirit work through our lives to bear witness to Christ in the world and share God’s love  with the world: God our Father, may the Holy Spirit continue the teaching of the Gospel and work in the world through the hearts of all who believe. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who eternally dwells with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever. Amen.
